As in other languages, Japanese has several greetings and apologies, among them:
O hayou Gozaimasu (good morning)
Konnichiwa (good afternoon)
Konbanwa (good evening)
Oyasuminasai (good night)
Sayounara (goodbye)
Gomennasai (apology when you've made a mistake whether intentional or not).
Sumimasen (apologies usually make mistakes when disturbing or accidentally)
Shitsurei Shimasu (apologies if something works it is considered rude to others.
There is a unique, Japanese people sometimes will say sumimasen if we suddenly gave him assistance services, indicated that he felt uncomfortable because makes us hard. Or if they asked for help from someone they will say Onegai shimasu which could mean 'sorry, I have made a fuss because you have been called upon by me'. Onegai shimasu meaning itself is actually an expression for the request.
